Policies

Reservation Policy – All reservations must be made at least 6 weeks in advance. For short notice reservations, please contact Dee by phone, 321-394-6874, prior to using the contact form. All reservations require a 50% deposit due 1 month prior to the charter to guarantee a date. Merely requesting a date does not secure it. We accept cash, check, or money orders made payable to “Dee Kaminski “. The remainder of the balance is due in cash prior to launch of the fishing trip.

Cancellation Policy – All moneys paid in advance for a reservation will be returned to you should you cancel your trip at least 72 hours prior to the start of your scheduled trip. Cancellations made by you within 72 hours of a scheduled trip will forfeit the deposit. Late arrivals (after 1 hour of scheduled trip) and “No shows” forfeit their deposit.

Bad Weather Policy – Unless you hear otherwise from Dee, she will be at the launch location at your reserved time. Dee has access to last minute weather radar and watches the weather carefully. Just because it’s raining doesn’t mean the fish aren’t biting. Should threatening weather (thunder, lightning, high waves, high winds) force us to cancel the trip (decision made by Dee), every attempt will be made to give you priority when rescheduling, otherwise, please allow up to 72 hours for refunds to be issued.

What to Bring

Clients are asked to bring a good pair of polarized sunglasses as seeing what is happening on and in the water is very important with our style of fishing. Amber or copper lenses work best. A hat with a brim preferably one that gives full sun protection, appropriate clothing for Florida’s changing climate, a camera, snacks, a fishing license (can be acquired from a local Wal-Mart or online at myfwc.com for a small fee), and any necessary medication, and a desire to catch fish. Please wear footwear that you do not mind getting wet or dirty. You can bring your favorite tackle if you desire but please discuss this with your guide in advance. We want to make sure that you have tackle that is suitable for the day’s trip. If you do not have your own rod and reel, one can be supplied for a small fee, usually enough to cover cleaning costs ($15). *If you lose or break a rod or reel, we will expect you to cover the replacement cost.

Reel Kayak Fishing Charters will provide solo Native Watercraft kayaks with the most comfortable seats available in a kayak, Aqua-Bound/Bending Branches paddles, personal floatation vests, emergency whistles, anchor trolley system, a dry storage container, sunscreen SPF30+, bug spray, a small cooler with water and ice for your drinks (6 pack size). You are welcome to bring lunch or snacks.

Please note: Reel Kayak Fishing Charters tries to adhere to "catch and release". We hold the conservation of our lagoons and estuary in very high regard. Due to Florida’s everlasting battle for clean water, we highly recommend "catch and release" only when fishing inshore until further notice.
